Dear children, parents and teachers,

this journal is a weekly summary description about the nesting behavior of several bird species, their habitat, and their predators. This is done through daily direct observations at different bird nest sites located in Forstenrieder forest, Bavaria, Germany. We follow the construction of the nest to the lay of the eggs, their hatching, chicks growth, predation, etc, and compare the behavior of the different bird species.

Click below to know what happened from week 1 (the nest discovery week, starting from April 2020) until the last week of observation (week 7, 18-24th of May). You will find descriptive photos and videos. This is updated on a weekly basis.
